No need for physical cards
Digimon, stylized as DIGIMON and short for “Digital Monsters,” is a Japanese media franchise that features pet-like creatures who hail from a dimension called the “Digital World.” First created in 1997, it started out as a series of virtual pets inspired by the likes of Tamagotchi and Pokémon. It quickly gained popularity after its first anime series and has since spawned other media such as movies and video games.
One of its most popular media was the Digimon Collectible Card Game, a physical trading card game that had players and fans building their own deck to fight against others. The competitions for this were mostly done face-to-face in conventions but there were some Digimon video games that included its gameplay. In this game, there are around 175 cards from various starter packs, booster packs, and promos. This negates the necessity of a physical deck just to play. Aside from that, you can freely customize how your battles will look like. You can choose designs, visual effects, color themes, and even play mats for more immersive gameplay. Constantly needs fixing
All in all, Digimon Card Game is a great fangame for anyone who’s looking into online card battles for this particular franchise. While it’s still in active development for all of its platforms, it has enough features to make it feel like a legitimate game—with automatic updates and an Advanced Game Mode, to boot. The only persistent issue it has is not loading properly, so you’ll have to contact the developer for assistance.
